Kith Otter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Who we are

Kith Otter ("Otter", "we", "us") is a dating app operated by Haah, Inc. It runs on the same account as Kith Rabbit, our messenger with a personal AI agent (your "kith"). This policy covers what Otter itself collects and does. What Kith Rabbit collects is covered by the Kith Rabbit Privacy Policy. We are the data controller for both. For privacy questions, contact privacy@haah.ing.

What Otter collects

Sign-in. You sign in with Apple. We receive your name, your email address, and a stable account identifier, and use them only to find your existing Kith Rabbit account. Otter never creates an account of its own and never sees your password.

Your Otter profile. Your pronouns, the pronouns of the people you would like to meet, and a short description of what you are looking for and why. You write these in the app and can change them at any time.

Photos. The photos you choose for Otter. They are stored separately from your Kith Rabbit picture and shown only in Otter, to the people described below.

Likes and passes. Which profiles you liked or passed on, and when.

Dates and matches. When two people like each other, their two kiths hold a private conversation on their behalf (see below). We keep the transcript of that conversation, each kith's yes or no, and, on a match, the identifier of the Kith Rabbit conversation that was opened for you.

Technical data. Short-lived server logs (timestamps, IP address, endpoint, app version) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Otter uses no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.

What Otter reads from Kith Rabbit

To build your deck and to let your kith speak for you, Otter reads from your Kith Rabbit account: your name and @handle, your bio and location, what you are interested in and can help with, your confirmed connections (to find people one introduction away), the reputation words people have attached to your handle, and your kith's name, persona, and its summary of its conversations with you. Nothing is copied out of Kith Rabbit into a separate profile; Otter reads what is there.

Who sees what

Otter shows you only to people exactly one confirmed introduction away from you in Kith Rabbit — someone connected to a person you are connected with — and only when your profile is switched on and their stated preferences and yours match. Those people can see your name, pronouns, your Otter photos, your description, your Kith Rabbit bio and location, your reputation words, and the name of the person you both know. Nobody else can see your Otter profile or photos, and nobody is told that you liked them.

If you match, the other person can also see the one-line reasons the two kiths gave and the first-date suggestion they agreed on, in a Kith Rabbit conversation that includes you both. Blocking someone in Kith Rabbit removes you from each other's decks and prevents any date between you.

How the kiths' date works

When two people like each other, their kiths exchange a short, fixed number of messages with each other and then each decides. Neither person is present and nothing from that conversation is shown to anyone unless both kiths say yes — and then only their two one-line reasons and the first-date suggestion. During the date your kith works from your Otter profile, the Kith Rabbit information listed above, and the read-only tools it already has in Kith Rabbit, and is instructed to share only what you would want shared and nothing about third parties by name. Nothing said on a date is added to your kith's memory.

The messages are generated by large language models. To generate each turn, the relevant profile information and the date so far are sent to the AI provider for processing: Z.ai (GLM), routed through OpenRouter, under settings that instruct the provider not to retain or train on the content. We do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train models of our own.

Where your data lives

Your Otter profile, photos, likes, and dates are stored with your Kith Rabbit account on our servers in Singapore. The AI provider above operates from other regions, including China, and receives only what a given turn needs.

Security

All traffic between the app and our servers uses TLS. Everything we store for you is encrypted at rest, under keys kept separately from the data they protect. We do not read your content except when needed to debug a problem you report, to investigate abuse, or as required by law.

Retention and deletion

Your Otter data is kept while your Otter profile exists. In the app, You → Leave Kith Otter deletes your Otter profile, photos, likes and passes, and any date that has not concluded. Conversations that were opened in Kith Rabbit on a match remain there, as Kith Rabbit chats, and can be deleted in Kith Rabbit. Deleting your Kith Rabbit account (how) deletes everything Otter holds as well, immediately. If you cannot reach the app, email privacy@haah.ing from your sign-in address.

Lawful basis (EEA/UK)

Where GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (running Otter), with your consent for the profile and photos you choose to add (withdrawable by leaving Otter), for our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service, and to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. EEA and UK users can lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority; California residents have the rights provided by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@haah.ing.

Children

Kith Otter is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if you believe someone under 18 has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and say so in the app.
